Pavel has developed his professional career in the field of Risk Engineering. During his 7 years of experience he has acquired both practical and theoretical experience by servicing clients from a broad variety of industry sectors at national and international level including construction, automotive, consumer electronics, energy, textile, retail, and distribution.
The backbone of Pavel’s activities is focused on providing a full scope of property risk control services ranging from “pre-loss” to “post-loss”, and with the capability to provide feasible solutions based on international guidelines, local best practices, and/or recognized expert assessments that can help companies optimize their risk profile.
Pavel’s involvement in other Risk Engineering related services such as claims handling & advocacy, insurance design & analysis, asset valuation for insurance purposes, as well as his involvement in several research initiatives within the field of Risk Management contributes to proposing solutions that lead to an effective risk control process which is of great benefit for the clients.
Pavel started his professional career as a member of Committee for geotechnical risk engineering in Spanish risk consulting company CPV Control Técnico y Prevención de Riesgos, S.A. The committee was in charge of geotechnical risk evaluation activities for various non-standard building foundation projects, and was also in charge of developing and optimizing company´s existing internal procedures.
Pavel was also in charge of benchmarking existing company risk control procedures and methodologies to its Chinese and Slovakian subsidiaries, as well as promoting the concept of Inherent Defect Insurance policy in Slovakian market and introducing it to existing national standards and building legislations.
Pavel has further developed his career as member of insurance intermediary company Marsh. He was predominately in charge of property risk evaluation and claims handling & advocacy. In addition, he has been involved in asset valuation for the purposes of insurance placement values, design & analysis of insurance policies, and also in charge of coordinating company’s business resiliency management team.
As member of Marsh risk consulting team, Pavel has been providing Risk Engineering services to medium and large-size businesses located predominately in Slovakian and Hungarian market, and occasionally in other European countries (including non-EU). Apart of standard service packages provided, he supported clients with specialized risk assessments for the purposes of theft insurance and loss of profit insurance.
Pavel is author of various scientific publications including PhD thesis on the topic of Risk Management. His PhD thesis has been focused on the development of methodology for risk identification for construction projects. He has been also involved in other research projects related to Risk Engineering such as security of buildings against the risk of explosion, and was also involved in further development of Risk Management methodologies for IPMA Project Management standards for Spanish branch office.
Pavel has been lecturing at Technical University of Madrid on the theory of Risk Management and Project Management for construction projects, and also giving workshops on construction Health & Safety and development of building foundation projects.
